Heavy Equipment Fleet to PI System using Edge Data Store !!

Hello Everybody

My Company implementing a new PI System for a new customer a part of this project is to follow up their Heavy equipment fleet performance (Trucks - Machines) I decided to use Edge Data Store. I was wondering if there is anybody implemented a solution like this to give some recommendations for Infrastructure and system topology. I am happy to discuss this topic with all of you. and hope to reach to good performance solution.

recommendations for

1- Suggested devices to communicate with Trucks (for Example Raspberry PI )

2- communications protocols

3- clean and fast infrastructure

thanks in advance.....

  • Mahmoud: mCore implements OMF and MQTT Sparkplug B protocol in a way that allows you to choose whether to report tags on a periodic basis or upon change of a certain settable threshhold. Once a tag is triggered to send, it gets a Real-time stamp and is sent to a buffer thread. If the TCP/IP connection is available it goes out immediately. If not, the message is buffered until the connection can be restablished. We have one application that lost an IP address for about 8-10 hours on 1100 tags checked once per second and they did not lose a single data packet. We are also installed on an underground haul truck that has to buffer in between WiFi hotspots all the time and it works seamlessly with no data loss. These are very common applications for Monico. Let me know if I can answer any other questions.
