I'm also interested in finding a way to export/import structural model from PDMS to STAAD, SAP 2000 or RAM Structural System and vice versa. I have been trying with Opensteel but have had no success so far.
I have managed to import an sdnf into SAP2k but a lot of information like profiles and connectivity was lost.
Any good news on that?

There are some mapping files that you will have to tweak in order to get it into SAP 2K and Ram Steel. Just copy and existing mapping file ex.) XSTEEL and modify it to suit Ram Steel or SAP 2K.
I haven't heard from NEILD since I sent him the std file. I hope to hear from him soon. We are still being trained on PDMS so I'm not at a stage where I can start looking into developing something like that.
Hi AlstomB...I looked at the STAAD file format...my first impression is there is a hell of data...it's not in as easy format as SDNF to understand...this could be a more complicated format to desypher and a macro to create...so work would definatly have to ask me to create it...as the time it would take...I couldn't do it for fun...

IGS/STEP impoort into micostation then export a STL file from microstation...then use Implant STL to create a macro file for import into PDMS...
