Very true, but I think that is the reason why this forum was set up? to answer the bits not in the manual. As I have heard many times on this site 'Trial & error'
Are the manuals in version 12 any different?
I think PDMS is a great product...but...and there is always a but !!
Why isn't it all documented ?
Which is crazy in my mind...
For instance...I wish to build structural templates...there is a template manual that gives examples on how to handle primatives...
Structural templates are PANE and SCTN totally different...
I contacted Aveva asking if there was any literature they could give me to supplement their very poor manuals thus help me build my templates...
I was told there was non...
What is the point in having the best software in the world...if they only tell you how to use half of it...
Aveva doesn't seem to realise there is competition out there..who document things and give better support...
Ianmp...with the structural templates...with my feedback it seems that there is only one man that uses them...Baz90...
Still we just try our best and struggle along...
I've only worked a couple of places and management in both are not sold on PDMS (it's used as it's the industry standard)...
I try and tell them how things can be done better/more efficiently...
Structural templates been one case...
So I'm trying to improve PDMS's slow image...with very little help from Aveva...
Which is ironic and very frustrating...
Hi iam fully agree your comments about pdms manuals if someone teach you its better rather than spending no of days with this manuals. My idea is if someone who is expert in pdms can write training manual or training by video its better. It is usefull for everyone i assume.
