Hey PDMSWorld.com members I would like everyone to know we have entered a partnership with ViewPoint Americas as their official forum. Viewpoint has been nice enough to sponsor the site and help with some promotions. PDMSWorld will be making a presentation at ISEIT 2006 to talk about the partnership and all of the benefits of this to our members. Please join us at ISEIT 2006 to show support for PDMSWorld and ViewPoint Americas. You still have until September 30th to take advantage of the Early Bird Registration.

October 23-24

ISEIT Americas (International Symposium for Engineering IT) is AVEVA’s annual executive conference that examines the business and technology issues that impact the entire lifecycle of your asset. This year, ISEIT goes “Back to the Future”, as speakers from industry, AVEVA, and Danny Forster, host of the Discovery Channel’s “Extreme Engineering” series, discuss how can past experience and lessons learned be applied to solve today’s problems, and tomorrow’s challenges.

October 24-25
ViewPoint Americaswill present a technical program of "Working Smarter, Not Harder". Presentations, panel discussions and workshops will identify time-saving measures, using simple procedures or work practices that can be implemented into any workplace for immediate results. Discussion topics on implementing long-term strategic solutions for Engineering Projects will present managers and users with the knowledge needed to evaluate existing tools and work practices in order to move in the direction of EXTREME. The conference also provides users of AVEVA solutions the opportunity to network and share valuable business ideas, experiences and productivity tips.

PDMSWORLD.com made its debut in March of 2006 as a one-stop source for users of the Vantage Plant Design Suite of products by AVEVA. Topics covered on the forum range from basic questions for the new user, to macros, pml2, and model management. So if you are a new user or experienced administrator please join us at the Conference as we partner with Viewpoint Americas in a campaign to Share the Knowledge. We will be giving a small presentation that will provide an overview of our partnership with Viewpoint Americas and how you can use the website to your advantage.

• I just signed up for EarlyBird Registration. I signed up for both events. Who else has registered so far?
• It it worth taking time off of work with no pay.
Will you be givng a presentation?
• Yes we will be giving a presentation. I have requested vacation for two days to go. I can not wait to go.
• Hi!  Hope you all don't mind me joining in here...  I'm the Technical Committee Chairman for the ViewPoint Americas User Group and have been involved with the conference planning. The agenda we have planned for the conference will be informative to the users, but the real value add to attending the conference is the interaction and dialog with other users and the AVEVA folks.  We've scheduled panel discussions and workshops as an opportunity for the users to take part in the conference and share what's on their minds.  And the best part about this years conference is that it doesn't have to end when the conference closes on Wednesday afternoon. We'll be able to keep the user group in touch all year around with our PDMSWORLD partnership.  As for your question on whether it's worth taking a day off without pay...  Only you can make that decision. I can tell you that we will be sharing the presentations from the conference on this forum but I've found that the interaction and discussions during the conference can be priceless. I also attached our most recent summary of what you can expect from the conference program.  Hope this helps!!
• Sounds like a great opportunity for our members to meet each other.
• Personally, I like the opportunity to discuss problems I'm having with the software with the application people one on one.  Aveva will have machines set up and running and you can SHOW them first hand what is not working for you, (showing them is alot better than filling out a help ticket) , alot of times, they can tell you a fix right then, or fill out a PUR on the spot for getting a fix out.

To have these guys come to your office for a day is very expensive, this is the same thing, you get multiple days where the technical people are at your disposal.  Last time I went; all of the tech guys were in another room during ISEIT Manager Presentations, I just went in there and put them to work!

Also, after the conference, I had some guys come out to our offices and sit with me so we could finalize the changes I wanted to see implemented. And they actually got it done in the next release.  The guy that actually wrote the MDS software was there, not someone from the help desk!

two words

GREAT OPPORTUNITY
• cvitte71 said it all.  This years Viewpoint Conference should be great and provide allot of interaction and detailed discussion of current PDMS issue.  Everyone should make time to be in Houston in Oct.  See our website http://www.viewpointamericas.com for complete agendas and registration links.
