    I have the same problem using 3Dconnexion Spacemouse with E3D.

    The thing for the rotation is that E3D needs a point of rotation, given by the position of your cursor on the screen (visualized by the small pink pin).

    If the pin is on an object, the view will rotate around it.
    But if the pin is not on an object, it's pinned "somewhere" in the background and the rotation is not controlled.

    When using the Spacemouse, the pin is not defined (in my opinion) and that's a start for troubles to arrive :)

    So if it can help someone to find/design a solution so we can use 3D mouses in E3D, it will be great !!
