Hello MILINDIM

If you have Navisworks Simulate or Manage, you can export .FBX from NWD model. I'm not sure if you can import .FBX direct in E3D. But you can convert your .FBX to .STL for example and the import in E3D. This is a slow process. So it works better with isolated elements. For example you export an equipment from Navis, convert and then import in E3D.

If you search the web there are free .FBX to .STL converters

Best Regards

Dear Milind,

even if that procedure explained by Ricardo is technicalwise possible, it is not recommended.
STL (Stereolithography) format once imported into E3D may have a dramatic impact on the software performances (both Model and Draw applications).
It would be better looking for other ways.
What is the scope of your question?

That's correct.

We use it for isolated equipment but depending on the size of the equipment you might have problems to load that Site/Zone in PDMS and E3D. Actually we import .STL not from Navis, but from SolidWork

In Steel Structure discipline we also try some importation from Tekla using IFC but sometimes it becames heavy also. And, as Corrado said, in both cases we might have problems afterwars in Draft.

What we started to test trying to solve those problems is to make all these integration in Navisworks. It has some advantages but you'll need some level of mind change inside your company. This might be the difficult part

Starting from E3D 2.1 fix7, it can import .IFC .
I saw one plugin designed by Codemill Oy that can export it from Autodesk Navisworks.
