I'd be very happy to have the old Model Editor functionality back for equipment, structure etc in E3D - ALONG with the new stuff.
Don't get me wrong, the new stuff is excellent, and it has hugely improved my performance when it comes to equi/stru creation and modification. I just don't understand why wasn't it implemented as a new, separate tool instead of as a replacement to the old model editor.
Major problems arise with positioning. Yes, move and rotate do exist, yes, there are multiple options for this, and yes we all developed our own pml tools to help with that as well; but also yes - they make the work needlessly over 200% slower than the old "grab move there done" editor functionality. Especially when trying to arrange multiple components in a narrow space under awkward angles (your typical day in any engine room).

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for my version/sp of E3D :(
Yes, the new editor IS awesome - IF you're currently modifying the actual shapes of the primitives/panes of your equipment/structure. If you are, however, repositioning or re-arranging elements, the old editor wins hands down.
