Yes you can, you need to set-up a style which only has the Memberline set. Then set the style of everything else to OFF

Make the Memberline something like Style = Solid and Thick and any colour you like.

This does assume the the sections within Design have the Meml attribute set correctly, if its a W section then i would set it to [COLOR=#000080]TOS[/COLOR]. If you don't see it use the Modify > Specification. Its the last of the 3 drop downs at the bottom of the form.

You then need to set the [COLOR=#000080]VGAP[/COLOR] attribute on the [COLOR=#000080]VIEW[/COLOR] within Draft, make it something lie 5mm. I am sure its under Modify > View > Limits-defined or user defined then select the attributes button. [COLOR=#000080]VGAP[/COLOR] should be in there.

In Design what are your [COLOR=#000080]DUNION[/COLOR] values? These are found on [COLOR=#000080]ZONE, STRU[/COLOR], [COLOR=#000080]FRMW & SBFR[/COLOR] levels.

I always have these set to zero as anything else, in my opinion, just causes problems.

This just creates a lot more work in Design. I don't like this feature, just means users cheat and don't add all the joints in.

[QUOTE=jbelinski;82098]I got some help from Mike Curry from AVEVA and advised me to make a Linestyle that had a DECGAP (decoration gap) set to the designed gap and DECMODE (decoration mode) to 6 so that the gap would show up are both ends of the member. The key is that after you set these values you need to run UPDATE PENSTYLES in the command line. This makes the members show up like a steel framing plan normally looks.

Just remember that the DECvalues need to be set in Design Distances not Draft Distances (For instance 4in not say 1/12in). And You may want two RRULs in your RRSE: 1 for regular beams and one for short beams (with the 4in DECGAP, I have a Linestyle with a 1in decgap for beams under 2'4 long)
