Uda for specific equipment

  • Hi everyone,
Is it possible to have UDA for individual equipment have different UDA such like for PUMP will have different UDA and vessel will have another UDA .As client needed and i dont want the user should search in attribute of equipment to fill the attribute to make user less effort.
  • Hello! If I understood You good You can create UDET ( user defined attribute type) for different type of equipment. In Your case UDET :PUMP and UDET :VESS.  They need to be created in lexicon and base type should be EQUI. When You create equipment in design module,  position on equipment that is pump and write CHANGETYPE TO :PUMP, then attribute of ACTTYPE of that equipment will become :PUMP and You will have that prefix in front of Equipment name in design three. Second thing You should do is also in Lexicon to create UDA that You want on that pump and in base type field of UDA properties You should add :PUMP. In that way when Your equipment changes it's ACTTYPE to :PUMP it will automatically have the attribute You created only for that type. Hope it's clear and this is close to what You need. If need any additional info just write here. Cheers!
  • U can change by filter above attributes menu. Or when u create uda choose options for pump or vessel.
But in mind I have doubt, if u r using std template it's ok, otherwise how pdms know what equipment u r create.  Any way try filter menu , I think u save your time.

Or bulk load through u add attributes value..
  • Sorry Atherd,

I unintentionally deleted my replay! As I previously wrote, U need to create UDET's for PUMP and VESSEL, where element type will be equipment. Afterwards You need to create the UDA You want just for those two UDET. Create UDA for example :Designer, and in the UDA settings under the field "element type" add those two UDET's. Next time You enter design module create one equipment and write in the command window CHANGETYPE TO :PUMP and when equipment get's prefix :PUMP check under the attributes and You will have Your specific attribute :designer You previously created in lexicon. When You use CHANGETYPE TO :PUMP in command window Your equipment gets new attribute ACTTYPE "PUMP" and afterwards You can filter all equipment that is pump, vessel, etc. Once again sorry for deleting the post, and hope it's all clear.
