Is it possible to confirm me if l understand or not please :

    1. I edit the dra-pens file, l add these lines :
    DEVPEN 12 Colour 2 SOLID LTHICK 0 ring SCALE 1 HPATTERN 1
    PLOTPEN 12 Colour 2 SOLID LTHICK 0 ring SCALE 1 HPATTERN 1

    2. l select a sheet and from the comand-line :
    /001 PLOT SHEE PDF /C:/001.PDF 'MINL 0.01,COL BW,NOVIEW' A1

3.doesn't matter about the configuration of my linest-12 in PDMS, in this new .pdf document the lines with this style should appear solid-thin

dra-pens file was for setting up the 40 user defined pens only. From 131 to 170.
Now in PDMS 12 you can set up your user defined pens directly in the PADD (draft) database through STYLWL, LSTYTB and LINEST

I have tried on my pc and it works fine.
    My version is:  AVEVA PDMS Draft Mk12.0.SP6.12[7122]  (WINDOWS-NT 5.2)  (1  Feb 2011 : 20:37)

Please check the LWIDTH attribute of your LINEST
If you use the command line and type Q LWIDTH the result will not show you the decimals. So if it is set to 0.4 you will get 0. If 0.7 you will get 1.
So the best way is to use the menu. Query>Attributes

    Ok thanks.
So....if I remember well.....using the User Interface you can select your own User Defined pens but they will be numbered from 1 to 40.
It means that Pen 1 corresponds to 131, 2 is 132, 3 is 133 and so on. Up to 170
If you use the command line you can use the "original" numbers. I.e. FFPEN 131
I am not sure pen 171 is user definable.

[QUOTE=Nusuth;25089]Let me just resurrect this thread for a moment, it's been very helpful for me in defining the LPATTERN of pen.

We had a problem that dashed line turned up like solid line in PLOT, with very few breaks in between.

My solution was to open DRA-GEN-LINDEF file and add the line

    LPATTERN 11 REP  2 DASH 1 GAP 1 DASH 1

then I reffered to the LPATTERN in file DRA-PENS in following way:

    DEVPEN 171 Colour 2 DASH LTHICK 1 PLUS SCALE 1 LPATTERN 11
    PLOTPEN 171 Colour 2 DASH LTHICK 1 PLUS SCALE 1 LPATTERN 11

and when I used PLOTPEN 171 for certain style I required, I got a very nice dashed line in PLOT.

Hope this helps other people searching for this solution.

I'm gone resurrect it once more because I'm a little bit confused or I'm doing something wrong.
I've done all that you said but when I make a new STYL  I can't choose 171 pen. Can you, or somebody else, help me with this one?

    Thanks

Thank you! I'll try it if it works. If not... I've probably messed up something.
