• Lomitelj? Zvuči skoro hrvatski...

Anyway, are you sure you modified the correct DRA-GEN-LINDEF and DRA-PENS file? As Corrado suggested, you can check where it is gathered from via Q EVAR PDMSDFLTS command.

Also, did you setup both DEVPEN and PLOTPEN? Did you check if the combination that you require is possible?
  • Skoro... :) Iz komsiluka sam, srpski je u pitanju.

Files are correct ones. I' sure.

I've done everything as you said: added the line
    LPATTERN 11 REP 2 DASH 1 GAP 1 DASH 1
in dra-gen-lindef and then in dra-pens
    DEVPEN 171 Colour 2 DASH LTHICK 1 PLUS SCALE 1 LPATTERN 11
    PLOTPEN 171 Colour 2 DASH LTHICK 1 PLUS SCALE 1 LPATTERN 11
    these two.

But, how can I check is it possible?
  • Create a simple STRA and change NLpen ATT to new pen style that you created, and see if it is what you need. Then try to plot it and see how it comes out plotted. This is how I tested it.
  • Oh, ok, for a moment I thought that there is some tool for it. :)

    Thanks
  • Well, it doesn't work. Why? I really don't know... When I change Nlpen of a STRA in 171 I've become a brown thick dashed line. Also I've tried to replace/rename 170 in dra-pen file with this one but that doesn't change anything at all! Command q evar pdmsdflts show that I'm working in the right files... Confused, that's what I am at this moment.
What should I, or can I, do? Have I made some mistake, somewhere? Any suggestions?
  • When you install PDMS, by default both files are under .......\PDMSUI\DFLTS folder.
  • I think that I've found the solution for my problem, but first I would like to ask you, all, a question: is it normal to have dra-pens and dra-gen-system files on two places? One is under Programs-AVEVA etc. and another one is, almost like hidden, somewhere on the server? I'm asking this because I'm not responsible for the complete PDMS administration but only for Draft...

Yes, this is very important. There are levels on which PDMS gathers data. Elementary level is from PDMS installation folder. This is basic.

BUT! If in Evars.bat, you refer to the other PDMSDFLTS folder, then PDMS will gather config data from that location - this is why I asked you multiple times if you are sure that you are changing the correct DRA-PENS and DRA-GEN-SYSTEM file!

In my company we have such a setup - you get your default files in PDMS installation folder, but - because all users have to use the same config files, and you don't want to change basic PDMS installed files, the changed config files are placed on server, and Evars.bat relates to the server location and uses those config files!
  • Well, Nusuth, you are right. We have many users and it seems that  everyone refers to this one on server. I'll try your pen setting one  more time. It should work this time.

I was already prepared to go to my Chief Administrator and exchange a few words with him...
