• Try running it using Window CMD (Command Prompt) form.
First of all navigate to the plot folder i.e CD C:\AVEVA\PDMS\PDMS12.1.SP4\Plot
Then just type PLOT

As far as I can see, you probably miss some DLL (i.e. ZLIB.DLL) file in that folder
You can copy it from the PDMS root folder
Or you probably have a ZLIB1.DLL file. In that case try renaming it to ZLIB.DLL
• Have an issue, which is only present on one machine, whereby double clicking on the Plot.exe file throws an error:

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000be). Click OK to close the application."

I'm not totally familiar with what this file does, and struggling to find any documentation on it. Can anyone assist?
• Sorry Aaron. THIS IS NOT A REPLY TO YOUR THREAD

I am having difficulty locating where I can start a new thread, but I do have a question for expert in the house.

How can I go about doing "Standard reporting" in AVEVA CATALOGUE 2.10"?, unlike 1.1 where it can be found in utilities, I was unable to locate it in 2.1, and I don't want to believe that it was removed.

Yes, it has been removed as it is obsolete.
But it is still there ;-)
You can call it by typing on the Command Window:

CALLIBR XREPSEL RUN
CALLIBR XREPSEL MODIFY

or

CALLIBR XREPSEL
SHOW !!CDCREPDEF

About opening a new thread....
Just enter the Forum.
Select one of the main "subject" (i.e. PDMS 12)
At the top left of the window you have a "+ Post New Thread" button

Our Plot folder is on a server, and this issue is only affecting one machine

Could it be a permission/access right issue?
You should check with your IT dept.
• Hello Aaron,

There may be problem with the plotviewer installation. Ensure zlib.dll & plotdrivers file are available in the C:\AVEVA\Plant\PDMS12.1.SP4\Plot\.

May i ask you why the plot.exe is opened? Also, What is the operating system of the machine that you are running PDMS?

Thanks for the response.

I am extremely unfamiliar with the setup for this. Our Plot folder is on a server, and this issue is only affecting one machine.

There is a zlib1.dll (along with a zlib.dll) file in the Plot folder. What exactly are these dll's responsible for?

Hi Alfred.

Had a look but I do not have a C:\AVEVA\Plant\PDMS12.1.SP4\Plot\ folder.

We run PDMS from the server, and the folder where the Plot.exe file is located is on a separate server.

We run Windows 10. The file is linked to AutoCAD generating a PLT file and adding symbols etc to a PDMS iso.

Possibly. Although when I log into his machine with my user account, I get the same issue.

Tried running from Command Window with same error.
• Hi Aaron,

No problem regarding the folder. To generate plt file you can do it through the command line instead of opening the plot.exe. Maybe i'm not sure about the method you're following.

Usually the 0xc00000be is an error associated with the application compatablity with windows version. Some workaround in sequence as follows,

Try reinstalling the application.

Check whether the Microsoft .NET is compatible with the PDMS version you're using as per AVEVA's prerequisites.

Check whether any windows important updates in postponed.

Thanks, Alfred.

Will look into this. However all users get the same updates. I can check what .NET he has installed. I would assume updating to latest version would be sufficient.

Do you know what the Plot.exe file is intended to do?
• Plot.exe is an old Aveva program.
It is a sort of 2d converter.
From PDMS, DXF and HPGL to  benson calcomp dxf houston hp hpgl hpgl2 interleaf laserjet list pdms penman png postscript ps screen xdump

In your specific case, from what you have written, I think it is used to convert automatically Autocad Backing Sheets into Isodraft ones via DXF format
