I work on a Railway Company and also want to monitor some assets here, such as:

• Point Machines (Motor electrical current) to identifiy failures and implement CBM
• Locomotives (Event recorders data) to implement CBM
• Waysides equipment: wheel and bearing temperatures
• And others...

I have similar goals here in my company

- I want to create a Locomotive monitoring, through the analysis of the Event Recorders data to identify problems in the locomotives components. This is will be based in algorithms implemented on PI System (PI Analysis + Event Frames), which will be responsible for identifying the deviations on the locomotives operations. My goal is implement a CBM.

- Analyze electrical current of the point machines (switches) to implement CBM and Preditive Maintenance.

Diego: Can you post some data and specific analysis that you are wanting to perform?  And, then we can decide on the best way to go about doing templates etc. 

Step1 of the task is to see if the analysis capabilities in AF alone is sufficient or do we have to invoke external calcs?

You can see the pictures below, which explain a little bit about my objectives.

About the Locomotives CBM, the firstl goal is very simple. The algorithms are not complex so, I believe, the suite AF+Analysis+EF+Notifications will be capable to perform all the operations.

About the Point Machines, the first step is only identify the operation and calculate three parameters - max current, operation duration and operation current (I have a problem to identify that - see (PI Formula - Disregarding the first 2 seconds of an Event Frame). But the real gain would be the implementation of intelligent logic using, in fact, machine learning, neural networks, and others, implementing preventive maintenance.

Maybe I can creat a specific topic here in forum to discuss about that. What do you think?
